9/11 could have been avoided

On this unhappy commemoration, the destruction of the Wall Towers in New York on September 11, 2001 could have been avoided. The artist, André Girod, for many years has traveled the world, going from New York to Sydney, from Singapore to Tokyo, from Paris to London. Everywhere, the same urban event happened : construction, using new technologies, of high rise buildings of steel and glass. To get the space to elevate such towers, it was necessary to eliminate all district of small houses  often dating from the beginning of the XX  century. People were moved away and destruction of the district happened.

So in 1982, through about 40 paintings, the artist explains his theory of DCD ( Destruction, construction, destruction) which has been the basis for the History of Humanity. Throughout the many periods, since the beginning of civilization, the winners have always destroyed their ennemis. Many samples can be given : the Conquistadores  destroy the Inca temples in Cuzco, Peru to build their cathedral. In Paris, the stones of the Bastille can be found in the buildings nearby. Nowadays, Syrian cities are bombed to chase the population.

The elevation of the high rise buildings are seen on the canvas through a broken window. For it is what is destroyed first when there is an explosion. The frame also could be twisted to increase the effect of destruction. But one of the paintings, still using the cycle DCD,  shows a high tower in fire to the top hit by a missile or a plane. So in 1982, the artist considered the possibility of one of these high rise buildings being destroyed by a flying engine.

The date also could have been part of the plot : 9/11 is in 911 the emergency telephone number in the United-States. This day, the number became unavailable in New York !
